2017 Initiatives

In 2017, UMIA launched important initiatives that focused on 5 areas: Hemispheric Health, Latin American Studies Research, Social Justice, Hemispheric Caribbean Studies, and Gender and Social Development. Each of these areas was led by a University of Miami faculty member, specializing in that field. As part of the insititute, these faculty leads held events, published work and led research that pertains to the insitute.
