Symposium Gender Equality Post-Millennium

The area of gender and social development seeks to increase our attention to the lived realities of people across the Americas and the challenges we face, as individuals, families and communities.

In doing so, we pay particular attention to the interactions of gender, race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, and other characteristics with individual, family and community quality of life and well-being.

In this endeavor, we seek to foster collaboration among scholars across the different schools at the University of Miami as well as within the South Florida community more broadly, and to take advantage of Miami’s unique location to bring experts on these topics from the region and beyond to share their knowledge with us.
